Native to northern India, China, and Iran, but now cultivated worldwide.
Background
This plant is cultivated for its fiber and seeds and illegally as a recreational drug. It is closely related to Cannabis sativa 'Indica'.
Preparation
The tops of the male and female flowers are macerated in alcohol.
